Last week’s Supernatural was a Sam/Lucifer (Jared Padalecki/Mark Pellegrino) love story as Lucifer hosted a “This is your Life” montage. We got to see the season 5 finale when Sam/Lucifer and Adam/Michael fell into hell. I think he genuinely can beat the darkness, but if it means Sam has to say yes…

Surprisingly, he does not. But that Lucifer is wily. At the last second, he got Castiel (Misha Collins) to say yes, so Lucifer got dressed in a Castiel suit. And then killed Rowena (boo!!).

Spoilers below.

Supernatural 11.11 ” Into the Mystic” review: The beginning starts as it usually does – with some seemingly unrelated horror. Someone screams inside one man’s head until he starts bashing his brains in (Wendy?). A baby is crying, while the wife slits her wrist, while muttering a spell to save her husband.

Just a typical day in the neighborhood.

Lucifer/Cass is reveling in the outside air. He tries to get an angel to join him in the battle against the darkness. “Lucifer ex machina.”

Cut to: the youngest old folks home Sam and Dean (Jensen Ackles) have ever seen. They think the head-bashing brain-eating monster are malevolent banshees. The creepy deaf maid is acting suspicious. Turns out, creepy maid is hunting the same banshee. She was the baby in the beginning. Resident Mildred (Guest Star Dee Wallace) also know about the Supernatural, and has a crush on Dean (who’s always been partial to Blanche).

Dean runs back to get the weapon of choice – gold blades. Cass Lucifer is rummaging around in the bunker. Dean walks in and they have a heart to heart about his ties to the darkness. Misha Collins is doing really well at pretending to be Lucifer pretending to be Castiel.

Surprising to all, the banshee goes after Dean. We know why, but Sam is a bit confused. Mildred and Eileen (the deaf girl who is the progeny of the Men of Letters too), save the day. When it is all done, it is Mildred who touches on why he is vulnerable. He is “pining for someone else.”

Oh Dean…

I cannot wait until Lucifer shows his hand and has his Darkness showdown. Until then…

Supernatural airs Wednesday nights at 9:00pm ET on The CW.
