After taking a break from the Bourne franchise, Matt Damon returns to the shaky cam spy genre he helped create. The first bits of footage from Jason Bourne has finally arrived in the form of a TV spot which aired tonight during the game.
Check out the first TV spot that aired during the Super Bowl for Jason Bourne here below.
As you may have first noticed, the film ditches “The Bourne [insert word]” title, and goes with the very simple name for its title. And maybe it’s to remind us that the name Bourne really belongs to only one person. And that person is Matt Damon.
In addition to Damon, Julia Stiles reprises her role in the spy genre. She will be joined by new faces to the franchise, Tommy Lee Jones, Vincent Cassel, and Alicia Vikander.
Matt Damon returns to his most iconic role in Jason Bourne. Paul Greengrass, the director of The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum, once again joins Damon for the next chapter of Universal Pictures’ Bourne franchise, which finds the CIA’s most lethal former operative drawn out of the shadows.
For Jason Bourne, Damon is joined by Alicia Vikander, Vincent Cassel and Tommy Lee Jones, while Julia Stiles reprises her role in the series. Frank Marshall again produces alongside Jeffrey Weiner for Captivate Entertainment, and Greengrass, Damon, Gregory Goodman and Ben Smith also produce. Based on characters created by Robert Ludlum, the film is written by Greengrass and Christopher Rouse.
Jason Bourne opens in theaters on July 29, 2016.
