A breakout hit for the Starz network, Ash vs Evil Dead debuted on Halloween 2015. Over 10 30-minute episodes, we watched Ash (Bruce Campbell) cope with his aging body, beaten down automobile, neverending ego, and oh yeah… deadites, lots and lots of deadites. For over 30 years, Ash has been a groovy chainsaw armed Lothario ruthlessly killing deadites, and flirting with any girl within arm’s length. Well, if you ever wondered where he got it from, look no further. Debuting later this year in season 2 will be Ash’s Dad, Brock Williams, played by the Six Million Dollar Man himself, Lee Majors.
More below.
Majors has 120 acting credits on IMDB, and is known for playing tough guys with tough guys names, like Steve Austin in the above mentioned Six Million Dollar Man, and Colt Seavers on The Fall Guy. The 75-year old actor has been a staple in movies and television since the 60s, and shows no signs of slowing down, with multiple projects due out this year. Joining Majors in the cast is Ted Raimi, brother of Sam and longtime collaborator of Campbell. He will playing Chet Kaminski, Ash’s childhood best friend. Ted Raimi has appeared in all the original Evil Dead films as well as the Spider-Man films and such television series as Xena: Warrior Princess and Supernatural.
Season 2 returns to Starz later this year, and brings back almost all of the cast led by Campbell and Xena herself, Lucy Lawless as Ruby, the lead villain, who now controls the Necronomicon. The rest of the cast includes Ray Santiago and Dana DeLorenzo (as Ash’s sidekicks Pablo and Kelly). Also returning are Executive Producers and Evil Dead creators Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert as well as showrunner Craig DiGregorio.
Ash vs Evil Dead season 2 premieres later this year on Starz.
