Ash vs Evil Dead Season 2 2016

It was announced earlier today that Anchor Bay Entertainment would be releasing Season 1 of Ash vs Evil Dead on DVD and Blu-ray next month. Now, Starz has premiered a new red-band trailer for Season 2 of the original series, which features Bruce Campbell reprising his role as Ash from the Evil Dead films.

The trailer was reportedly considered “too gory” to be shown at this week’s San Diego Comic-Con International (SDCC), but you can watch it here below, where you can also check out the new AvED SDCC poster, Season 2 images, and the show’s convention schedule.

Starz will be promoting Ash vs Evil Dead at SDCC this week with a panel, an autograph session with the cast, and the world premiere screening of the Season 2 debut episode. (Details are below.)

This new trailer gives us a nice glimpse of the upcoming season, and the gore mostly comes at the end of the trailer — it’s not anything we’re not already used to in this series. It also uses the Motorhead classic “Ace Of Spades.” It’s good stuff!

The second season roars back into action with Ash leaving his beloved Jacksonville and returning to his hometown of Elk Grove, Michigan. There, he confronts Ruby. The former enemies have to form an uneasy alliance as Elk Grove soon becomes the nucleus of evil.

The cast is led by Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead, “Burn Notice”) in the role of Ash Williams; Lucy Lawless (“Salem,” “Spartacus”) as Ruby Knowby, who now possesses the powerful Necronomicon; Ray Santiago (“Touch,” Meet the Fockers) as Pablo Simon Bolivar, Ash’s loyal sidekick dealing with the trauma he suffered in the cabin; and Dana DeLorenzo (A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas) as Kelly Maxwell, who, grief-stricken after the death of her parents, plots revenge against The Evil Dead. Lee Majors (Do You Believe), Ted Raimi (“Xena: Warrior Princess,” Spider-Man) and Michelle Hurd (“Law & Order: SVU”) join the series this year as Brock Williams, Ash’s father, Chet Kaminski, Ash’s childhood best friend, and Linda, Ash’s high school love respectively.

  1. Damn, this looks like fun. And Lee Majors, ha, can’t wait. Thank you Starz for not being afraid to do shows like this. Long Live Ash.
