You know, I don’t think anyone has ever sent me an article of clothing to review before. But I can’t say that anymore after this, because Celebs Clothing was gracious enough to send me one of their Captain America Varsity Jacket for my very own! How cool is that? I always like receiving gifts (who doesn’t?), but when it’s from someone I’ve never met, that’s particularly awesome!
To be completely honest, they actually sent me a list of different jackets from which to choose. Batman, Deadpool, Suicide Squad, Superman, and more! But I’ve always wanted some Cap merch so I went with the red, white, and blue!
Make sure to check out the pictures here below of the jacket I tried out.
First thing I noticed, right out of the package, was how freaking soft it was. Like plush blanket soft! I tried it on and it was just as comfy as it looked. My only problem was actually my own fault: I ordered a size too large! If you’re like me and you fall in between two sizes, go for the smaller one. I’m used to most items being slightly smaller than they say, but these run true to size. The Captain America shield emblem isn’t just some stitched on patch, either — it’s full on embroidered. I used to manage a department store, so let me tell you the cost variance between stitched on and embroidered is absolutely ridiculous. I would never have expected that, knowing how inexpensive these jackets are.
I haven’t worn it outside yet, mostly because I live in Texas and it’s July; I don’t have a death wish. But you can bet your socks I’ll be rocking this as soon as weather permits. This is the definitive fashion statement, from the shiny silver snap closures down the front to the badass red and white trim on the collar, cuffs, and waistline. The heather grey sleeves really pop next to the contrasting deep blue torso. I’m also happy with the exterior pocket line made from the same fleece material as the sleeves, as it gives them a bit of distinction, breaking up the field of blue. For people like me, it’ll also help us find the pocket easier.
In short, I like the jacket for what it is. It’s lightweight enough to see use more often than most, but still heavy enough to serve its most basic purpose of keeping you warm. Also, while It won’t replace your parka, but you might want it to as it’s freaking Captain America after all!
I urge you to check out their store, where they have a huge range of other jackets and much, much more. This isn’t a high-end piece of outerwear, as it’s mostly made from fleece. But for the price you are paying — currently $49 — you’ll get more than you would on many other sites and in most stores. The end result is this: I would order from them again. And I probably will, since my middle kid wants one, too.
On a side note, I washed it like it recommends and it looked fine afterwards, no color bleeds or anything. On a whim, I decided to see if I could shrink it so it would fit me better, but that didn’t work at all. Tried hot water and overdrying, but it still held up perfectly. So be aware you won’t have to worry about these jackets shrinking later on. Not even if you want them to do so!
But wait! Don’t go yet! In celebration of the upcoming Suicide Squad film, there is a blog that features Harley Quinn items from their site! I checked it out and it’s more than just a few links. It’s all about several different incarnations of Harley Quinn. Not just the products and goods but also tutorials on makeup and cosplay. You can find that link here. Just in time for more comic conventions, right?!
Thanks for reading and a big thank you to Celebs Clothing for the hook up!

Here’s some photos I took of my jacket…
Nice review! I’m a big fan of varsities and I really like that jacket, colors are nice and decent and the silver snaps down the front are really dope! Don’t find them often on varsity jackets.
