Ouija Origin Of Evil Title Card

Universal Pictures has released the second trailer for Ouija: Origin Of Evil. The film is a sequel to 2014’s Ouija, which is based on the board game of the same name. Starring Henry Thomas, Elizabeth Reaser, and Doug Jones, the horror flick will attempt to tell the story of a seance’s new scam involving the haunting board that seems to have taken possession of her young daughter’s body.

Check out the new trailer here below.

Not much as changed since we saw the first trailer earlier this year. The film does offer some new footage and gives us another look at just how terrifying a young girl can be when an evil spirit from a board game inhabits her body. If you’re wondering how we got to this point, it’s because the first Ouija was actually a sleeper hit, so it’s no surprise that the studio would want to cash in with a sequel while the iron is still hot.

Ouija: Origin Of EvilMike Flanagan (Occulus) directs, and he co-wrote the script with Jeff Howard. Blumhouse’s Jason Blum and Platinum Dunes’ Michael Bay and Brad Fuller are producers. Ouija: Origin of Evil stars Henry Thomas, Elizabeth Reaser, Doug Jones, Parker Mack, Sam Anderson, Kate Siegel, Annalise Basso, and Lulu Wilson, and opens in theaters on October 21, 2016.

Here’s the official plot synopsis:

It was never just a game. Inviting audiences again into the lore of the spirit board, Ouija: Origin of Evil tells a terrifying new tale as the follow-up to 2014’s sleeper hit that opened at number one. In 1965 Los Angeles, a widowed mother and her two daughters add a new stunt to bolster their séance scam business and unwittingly invite authentic evil into their home. When the youngest daughter is overtaken by the merciless spirit, this small family confronts unthinkable fears to save her and send her possessor back to the other side.

Ouija: Origin of Evil is produced by Platinum Dunes partners Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Purge series, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), Blumhouse Productions’ Jason Blum (The Purge and Insidious series), alongside Hasbro’s Brian Goldner (Transformers and G.I. Joe series) and Stephen Davis (Ouija). Mike Flanagan directs from a screenplay he wrote with his Oculus and Before I Wake collaborator, Jeff Howard, and Universal will distribute the film worldwide.
