The Fate of the Furious starring Vin Diesel

Universal Pictures has released the Super Bowl spot for their upcoming sequel The Fate of the Furious, starring Vin Diesel, Charlize Theron, Michelle Rodriguez, Jason Statham, Dwayne Johnson, Kurt Russell, and many more.

Watch the extended Super Bowl TV spot here below.

The creators of the Fast and the Furious franchise have given up all claims to sanity and believability with this latest trailer for the 8th installment in the series that dates back to 2001. The newly titled The Fate of the Furious picks up from where 2015’s Furious 7 left off. After F7 paid tribute to the late franchise star Paul Walker, the 8th installment is apparently paying tribute to the military industrial complex. In just over one minute of the trailer, we see machine guns, wrecking balls, tanks, and why not, a nuclear submarine!

As the trailer starts, Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) appears to turn his back on the gang, going with new villain Cipher (Charlize Theron). The entire crew is back including Michelle Rodriguez, Jason Statham, Dwayne Johnson, Kurt Russell, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, etc. Some of the notable highlights from the insane trailer feature what appears to be an arctic chase scene featuring as expected plenty of disposable gorgeous automobiles driving at and away from a submarine which breaches the ice. This may be the dictionary definition of “popcorn movie.”

Directed by F. Gary Gary, The Fate of the Furious, starring Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Helen Mirren, Nathalie Emmanuel, Elsa Pataky, Scott Eastwood, with Kurt Russell and Charlize TheronDafne Keen, opens in theaters everywhere on March 3, 2017

On the heels of 2015’s Furious 7, one of the fastest movies to reach $1 billion worldwide in box-office history and the sixth-biggest global title of all time, comes the newest chapter in one of the most popular and enduring motion-picture serials of all time: The Fate of the Furious.

Now that Dom and Letty are on their honeymoon and Brian and Mia have retired from the game””and the rest of the crew has been exonerated””the globetrotting team has found a semblance of a normal life. But when a mysterious woman (Oscar® winner Charlize Theron) seduces Dom into the world of crime he can’t seem to escape and a betrayal of those closest to him, they will face trials that will test them as never before.

From the shores of Cuba and the streets of New York City to the icy plains off the arctic Barents Sea, our elite force will crisscross the globe to stop an anarchist from unleashing chaos on the world’s stage”¦and to bring home the man who made them a family.

For The Fate of the Furious, Vin Diesel is joined by a returning all-star cast that includes Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Elsa Pataky and Kurt Russell. In addition to Theron, the series welcomes newcomers Scott Eastwood and Oscar® winner Helen Mirren. The film is directed by F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton) and produced by returning producers Neal H. Moritz, Michael Fottrell and Diesel.

The Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots meet for Super Bowl LI at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, at 6:30 pm ET on Sunday, February 5, 2017. The Big Game will be broadcast on FOX TV, with FOX Sports GO streaming it online.
