On Tuesday morning, Good Morning America will be making some sort of huge Star Wars announcement. Of course, they’ve purposely kept things vague in order to draw in some viewers, but just know that this comes on the heels of Star Wars Celebration Orlando. More on what we think the announcement could be below.
Since this is pure speculation, there is no way of knowing what this announcement could be. There is a good chance that they could be showing a trailer. A big clue that leads me to believe that is the fact that stars Mark Hamill and Daisy Ridley will be there live to help with the big reveal. While a trailer reveal would take away from those attending The Last Jedi panel at Star Wars Celebration this weekend, you have to remember that there is almost always exclusive footage for those in attendance, and it’s the kind of footage that is never shown to the general public before the movie’s release. It could be anything from behind-the-scenes footage to just a few-seconds tease. It’s the kind of stuff that makes the trip to Star Wars Celebration worthwhile.
I do find it hard to believe that it could be the reveal of the title for Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s Han Solo spinoff. Again, Hamill and Ridley’s participation for this reveal makes me believe that it has to be related to the Saga films. This also applies to any possible spinoffs.
Some are speculating that it could be related to Force For Change, a Star Wars-themed charity program that helps finds solutions for problems that affect the world. These campaigns encourage Star Wars fans to donate and use really cool incentives like being a part of the film or watching Rian Johnson at work to pitch in more than the minimal amount. Note, I’m just using those two as possible examples. There’s no campaign with such incentives, yet.
The purpose of tomorrow’s announcement is to help celebrate the 40th anniversary of Star Wars. So, we’ll keep you posted on what it is.
