Raunchy summer comedies are becoming more commonplace to give some balance to a season normally chock full of action tentpoles. And with more studios trying to use the same formula that gave way to the success of the Jump Street franchise, you can be sure to see a lot more raunchy takes on TV classics. So Paramount hopes that you’ll come to theaters to watch Baywatch, starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Zac Efron, Alexandra Daddario, and Priyanka Chopra.
While previous trailers have skimmed the surface of this R-rated flick, this new red band trailer will make sure you know that this is an R-rated action comedy. It’s definitely NSFW, so it’s probably best to put on some headphones or wait until the coast is clear. Check out the trailer below.
It’s not as though we haven’t seen this kind of material before. But at least Johnson and Efron look like they have that buddy cop chemistry that should carry the film. While those two have been the focal point of these trailers, Daddario gets to have a little more time in them. Hopefully, this means that she has a larger role in the film than what previous trailers told us. We also get to see a little bit more of the criminal activity from Chopra’s character. Although, all of that might be overlooked considering the raunchy humor and one-liners that are packed in this trailer.
All things considered, this trailer is one of the best ones out there and may be just the thing to draw audiences into theaters this summer.
The film also stars on Jon Bass, Ilfenesh Hadera, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II
Here’s the official plot synopsis:
“˜Baywatch’ follows devoted lifeguard Mitch Buchannon (Dwayne Johnson) as he butts heads with a brash new recruit (Zac Efron). Together, they uncover a local criminal plot that threatens the future of the Bay.
Directed by Seth Gordon, Baywatch hits theaters on May 29, 2017.
