Ubisoft has released an extended gameplay walkthrough video for their upcoming release, Far Cry 5. The over eight-minute gameplay walkthrough was shown behind closed doors during E3 2017, where a shorter gameplay preview was shared with the public.

The extended walkthrough shows off more of the open world of Hope County, a canine companion named Boomer, ways to approach enemies you’ll encounter, some of the vehicles you can operate, and even a little break to enjoy some fishing.

OVERVIEW:

Welcome to Hope County, Montana, land of the free and the brave, but also home to a fanatical doomsday cult known as The Project at Eden’s Gate that is threatening the community’s freedom. Stand up to the cult’s leader, Joseph Seed and the Heralds, and spark the fires of resistance that will liberate the besieged community.

In this expansive world, your limits and creativity will be tested against the biggest and most ruthless baddest enemy Far Cry has ever seen. It’ll be wild and it’ll get weird, but as long as you keep your wits about you, the residents of Hope County can rest assured knowing you’re their beacon of hope.

THE CULT:

The Project at Eden’s Gate

The Project at Eden’s Gate believes The Collapse is imminent, and only their merciless and manipulative leader, The Father, can save them.

Led by The Father and commanded by The Heralds, Eden’s Gate preys on those hopeless folks who have fallen into economical and psychological despair. They believe the cult will provide them with salvation, and in return they must devote their souls.

Hope County Resistance

Throughout the hills, valleys, and townships of Hope County, civilians of all walks have joined forces to resist against the cult, and rid their land of its chaos once and for all.

Comprised of everyday townsfolk from Holland Valley to the more self-sufficient residents spread throughout the Whitetail Mountains, every member of The Resistance has one thing in common: They want Hope County back. And they’ll use every tool at their disposal to ensure Joseph Seed is giving his next sermon from the grave.

Resistance Meter Game Leveling

When you hit hard, the enemy’s gonna hit back harder. Far Cry 5’s dynamic AI tracks the effect you’re having in the game, and alters the enemy’s strategy against you. Be prepared: The cult will boost their efforts when you become less of a nuisance and more of a threat.

Game Activities

The fate of Hope County is in your hands. Take on the cult solo or team up with a fellow resister in co-op mode and wreak havoc upon Joseph Seed and his band of cult followers.
