A couple of weeks back we saw the first in a trio of Blade Runner 2049 prequel shorts, titled “2036: Nexus Dawn,” which followed Jared Leto‘s character as he sought a repeal of the prohibition placed on replicants.
Now the second prequel short, titled “2048: Nowhere to Run,” has been released. It follows Dave Bautista‘s character, a replicant named Sapper Morton, as he tries to keep a low profile.

Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge whatâ€™s left of society into chaos. Kâ€™s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.

The short is directed by Luke Scott (Morgan), who also directed the first short. Luke is the son of original Blade Runner director and sequel producer Ridley Scott.
Blade Runner 2049 is directed by Denis Villeneuve (Arrival, Sicario), with the screenplay written by Hampton Fancher (Blade Runner) and Michael Green (Logan, Alien: Covenant).
