Thor: Ragnarok isn’t the only superhero film to open this November. In just a few short weeks, Warner Bros. will be releasing their latest superhero ensemble film, Justice League. Featuring some of DC’s mightiest heroes, the film will bring together Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), The Flash (Ezra Miller), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) to stop a powerful threat that could put an end to all life as we know it.
Though we got a fleeting glimpse of Steppenwolf (Ciarán Hinds) through the small deleted scene and a few trailers, a handful of new clips gives us not only our best look at the villain, but also just how powerful he is over the five heroes. So where is Superman (Henry Cavill) when you need him. Hopefully, the clips will answer that. Check it out below.
Thanks to Comicbook.com for providing all the clips.
The first clip is one we’ve seen before. It’s Bruce’s first meeting with Aquaman. Though he comes asking the town folk if they could help find him, Aquaman is triggered by his words and accosts Bruce. Though he doesn’t appear to feel threatened by him and goes as far to mock Aquaman’s ability to talk to fish.
Our next clip looks familiar as well, as it shows Wonder Woman preventing a robbery in progress and saving a group of children in the process. Though it is a bit choppy, Wonder Woman stops the thieves in nearly an instant. One of them, apparently hasn’t heard of her as she quickly takes care of one of their bombs.
This clip attempts to alleviate the film’s dark tones with some comedy as Batman attempts to recruit The Flash, who is hesitating to join by denying that he is who Bruce thinks he is. So in an attempt to out him, Bruce throws a batarang at him, an attempt that ultimately ends up in failure as everything slows down for the Flash and he simply pulls the batarang like it was nothing.
Now this is a clip we really haven’t seen much of in the trailers, but it sees Bruce at his worst moment when he loses faith in himself and his ability to rally a team. He believes he doesn’t have the resolve or the heroism like Superman, whom he believes is more human than he could ever be. So it seems fitting that Alfred, his closes confident, would inspire him to be the hero that he is and not compare himself to something he is not.
Speaking of inspiration, it looks like Batman is handing down some to Flash, who also believes he isn’t as heroic as the others as he says he doesn’t do much other than use his speed to push people out of the way. So Batman lays down some wisdom by telling him to start small and that he will know what to do next.
In this clip, we get to see a little bit more of the humor, which looks like will be coming from The Flash. Here, Batman gathers the team together for the first time and discusses the situation with Commissioner Gordon. Apparently, people have gone missing, and it is all related to the Mother Boxes.
Finally, the last clip gives us our best look at Steppenwolf, the big bad villain who is also one of Darkseid’s generals. Clearly Steppenwolf doesn’t see any of the heroes as a threat, calling them primitive beings as he intercepts a missile fired from one of Batman’s vehicles by Cyborg – who hacked into the system – and tosses it over like it was just a toy.
Justice League opens in theaters on November 17, 2017. Click right here to find much more on the movie.
