It is time for a wedding! Barry and Iris (Grant Gustin, Candice Patton) are finally getting hitched. As exciting as that is, fans of The CW’s Super Friends are more excited about the most wonderful time of the year – crossover time! Although this is more Flash-themed, the fun began last night on Supergirl. They quickly shed any Supergirl plot, to focus in the reason everyone came together – the West-Allen nuptials.

Spoilers below.

Supergirl 3.8 “Crisis on Earth-X, Part 1” review: Earth-X is a Nazi world. That’s definitely a crisis, right? A group of rebels talk about hope (that sounds vaguely familiar), but are slain by arrows on the spot. A hero arrives, Earth-X’s version of Guardian (Mehcad Brooks), fights him, and dies.

Kara and Alex (Melissa Benoist, Chyler Leigh) talk man/woman troubles, and decide to go to the wedding. Alex meets Sara (Caity Lotz – was waiting for that!), and sexy hijinks ensue.

Barry and Oliver (Stephen Amell) try on tuxes and talk about love… hot!!! Barry gives Oliver advice.

Oliver: “I’m supposed to be the all-knowing mentor.”

Cisco and Harry (Carlos Valdes) devise a Firestorm cure, complete with quips and barbs – “Squidward! Jax (Franz Drameh) isn’t so happy. Stein and Caitlin (Victor Garber, Danielle Panabaker) have a moment reminiscing about Ronnie. When she leaves, he messes with the cure. Jax is angry at the result.

Who is the Führer? Hitler died in the 90s in Earth-X.

It is time for the rehearsal dinner, and I wish I was invited. Mick (Dominic Purcell): “I never pass up a free buffet and an open bar.” Me neither. Everybody mingles. Barry tries to convince Kara she deserves love too.

Joe (Jesse L. Martin) gives an awesome Joe speech. Had you any doubt? It’s full of dad love.

Oliver proposes to Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards). She says no, and he is totally flustered. She shouts, “Oliver, I don’t want to marry you!” Everyone hears. Felicity!!! I’ll marry you Oliver. Felicity is making me mad.

Happiness and regret as everyone wakes up the morning of the wedding.

Supergirl sings the Barry song from the musical as Iris walks down the aisle, Barry has tears in his eyes.

And cue “Speak now or forever hold your peace”… a laser destroys the officiant. Nazis walk in.

The battle is so crazy! Definitely rivaling the Arrow season ending fights. Everybody hits everyone. Sara and Alex team up as badass fighters. There are superheroes and Nazis everywhere… in a church. My description cannot do it justice.

“Best wedding ever!” Mick is right.

It is evil Wells (Thawne), evil Oliver, evil Kara! Then it ends.

What an awesome episode! I remember being upset at the 4-event crossover last year, waiting until the last couple of minutes when Cisco and Barry breached in. This episode was so much better. Everybody mixed right from the start, the connections from the past, adding layers to this delicious feast. I love the Nazi aspect, as such a world cannot be tolerated. I’m glad Wells/Thawne is fully back as he was my favorite Flash villain.

Supergirl 3.8 “Crisis on Earth-X, Part 1” was followed by Part 2 on Arrow (review to come). Tonight, we get Parts 3 & 4 on The Flash and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.

Supergirl airs Monday nights at 8:00pm ET on The CW.
