Back in the Summer, rumors began swirling that Adam Green had secretly made a fourth Hatchet film, named Victor Crowley which was having surprise screenings. Now as the film is set to debut on February 6th on Blu-ray Combo Pack, Blu-ray, DVD, Digital, and VOD, the full trailer is out! Watch it here below.
A little bit about the Hatchet series: In 2006, relatively unknown writer director Adam Green gave us Hatchet and introduced the world to a new horror icon for the 21st century, the hulking monster known as Victor Crowley. The film took place in the bayous of New Orleans, where a 7-foot giant with a huge hatchet-caused gash in his face lived in a cabin waiting for people getting lost on swamp tours. If you just read the film’s description in an article, then Hatchet seemed like your run of the mill Friday the 13th knockoff. But Green’s film was not a cash-grab rip-off, but rather a cheerful homage the ’80s slashers and Ft13-style gore. Nothing was taken too seriously and the amazing practical special effects made both the killer and kills gleefully over the top. Green even got former Jason Voorhees actor Kane Hodder to portray Crowley. Along with Hodder, Hatchet and its sequels (in 2010 and 2013) showed off an impressive list of genre actors in cameos and supporting roles. Faces and names you know like Danielle Harris, Tony Todd, RA Mihailoff, Derek Mears, Zach Galligan, Sid Haig, and more.
In the new trailer for Victor Crowley, the lone survivor from Hatchet Part II and III, Andrew (Parry Shen), is living large having written a bestseller about his “adventures.” He’s recruited by his agent (horror legend Felissa Rose) to lead a team back to the swamps for $600,000. Of course the private plane crashes and soon a new group of victims are in the path of Victor Crowley (Kane Hodder). God only knows what he has in store for them! Check out the trailer and see Victor Crowley on February 6, 2018.
Ten years ago, forty-nine people were brutally torn to pieces in Louisiana’s Honey Island Swamp. Over the past decade, lone survivor Andrew Yong’s claims that local legend Victor Crowley was responsible for the horrific massacre have been met with great controversy, but when a twist of fate puts him back at the scene of the tragedy, Crowley is mistakenly resurrected and Yong must face the bloodthirsty ghost from his past.
