Warner Bros. has released a teaser trailer for Joker, the upcoming movie about the infamous Batman villain starring Joaquin Phoenix in the title role.

The teaser trailer for the movie was first shared during a presentation at CinemaCon yesterday, before being released to the masses this morning. In addition to the trailer, a new poster for the movie has also been released. You can find both the trailer and the poster below.

Unfortunately we still don’t have an official synopsis for Joker.

The movie is directed by Todd Phillips (The Hangover, Old School), who also co-wrote the screenplay with Scott Silver (The Fighter, 8 Mile).

Starring alongside Phoenix in the film is Zazie Beetz (Deadpool 2, Atlanta), Robert De Niro (Taxi Driver, Raging Bull), Francis Conroy (Six Feet Under, American Horror Story), Marc Maron (Maron, GLOW), Shea Whigham (Boardwalk Empire, First Man), Bryan Callen (The Goldbergs, Kingdom), Glenn Fleshler (Billions, Barry), Josh Pais (Ray Donovan, Maniac), and Bill Camp (Hostiles, The Night Of), with Brett Cullen (The Dark Knight Rises, Narcos) as Thomas Wayne, Douglas Hodge (Red Sparrow, Penny Dreadful) as Alfred Pennyworth, and Dante Pereira-Olson (You Were Never Really Here, Happy!) as a young Bruce Wayne.

Joker is set to be released in theaters on October 4th.
