BookExpo 2019 hit the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City last month, and besides the aisles and aisles of wonderful words, there were also… puppies and kittens! Dr. Gary Weitzman – National Geographic author, veterinarian, and President & CEO of the San Diego Humane Society, was in attendance to promote his new pet reference guide, Complete Guide to Pet Health, Behavior, and Happiness.
The line for Dr. Weitzman snaked around for almost 1 1/2 hours, with Weitzman signing free copies of his book and taking the time to answer questions with each fan. While that was going on, lovable and adoptable puppies and kittens from the Animal Haven Shelter were available for snuggles. The shelter, located at 200 Centre Street, New York, NY 10013, tirelessly advocates for these gorgeous babies. Everyone just melted.
