‘Loki’ Series On Disney+ Will Also Connect To ‘Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness’

Loki

When it was announced that Marvel Studios would be releasing a number of TV series on Disney’s new streaming service Disney+ it was implied that they would connect to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, more so than the previous Marvel TV series. That theory was proven to be true when it was announced that WandaVision would be connected to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

But that isn’t the only show to tie into the Doctor Strange sequel. Now it has been confirmed that Loki will be connected as well. More on the report below.

In an Interview with Bloomberg, Marvel Entertainment’s Chief Creative Officer Kevin Feige said that Marvel Cinematic Universe fans will need a Disney+ subscription because some of the shows will factor into forthcoming films such as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. “I’m not sure we’ve actually acknowledged that before, but it does,” Feige said.

It will be interesting to see how many other shows will connect to other films. We can presume that Ms. Marvel will tie into a Captain Marvel sequel. And not only that but Lieutenant Trouble aka Monica Rambeau, who first appeared in Captain Marvel, will be making a return to the MCU by starring in WandaVision. Monica Rambeau will be played by Teyonah Parris.

Feige also talked about how Hawkeye was originally envisioned as a film. Although there has been some obvious changes, he does admit he was nervous about his pitch to Jeremy Renner. There had been a big deal set in place for the actor to reprise his role as the Avengers’ archer, but Feige wanted to change it into a series. It turns out, Feige didn’t need to be worried about being so nervous as Renner was open to the change. “He totally got it and said, ‘Let’s do it,'” Feige recalls.

While it has not been confirmed, Bloomberg and various other reports say that Disney might be spending as much as $25 million per episode on some of the series they’re producing. That amount is believed to be even higher than what HBO committed to the final season of Game of Thrones.

Disney+ officially launched today. There are no official release dates for Loki or WandaVision as of yet, but if they connect to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, it only stands to reason that they will be released sometime before its release, which is planned for May 7, 2021.
