| NYC Horror Film Festival Returns Later This Month |

Even though Halloween is past, it’s not safe to put away the horror films just yet. The New York City Horror Film Festival returns to the city for 4 gory days starting on Thursday, November 29th and running through Sunday, December 2nd at the Cinepolis Chelsea. This is the 16th edition of the festival started by the late Michael J. Hein and continued by his family and friends. When all is said and done nearly 40 feature-length and short horror films will be screened at the festival.

If you’re looking for a good scare and can’t wait till Halloween, then mark September 21st-23rd on your calendars. As the season changes from Summer to Fall, this year’s New Jersey Horror Con and Film Festival invades the Showboat Hotel on the Atlantic City Boardwalk, bringing horror movies, celebrities, special events, cosplay, and more. The brainchild of filmmaker/producer Ryan Scott Weber and Comic Book Men producer/pop culturist Rob Bruce, NJ Horror Con and Film Festival is moving to their most ambitious location yet and bringing the tri-state area another killer con. Their massive guest list features over 30 celebrities from the worlds of horror, television, and rock and roll all signing autographs, and posing for photo ops. The film festival will showcase over 25 short and feature length horror films.

With the return of HBO’s Westworld coming sometime in April, fans of the smash hit show crowded the Austin Convention Center ballroom during SXSW 2018 in hopes that its stars and showrunners might offer hints of what’s to come. And they weren’t disappointed. The panel was moderated by WIRED’s Jason Tanz, who introduced showrunners Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, and stars Evan Rachel Wood (Dolores Abernathy), Thandie Newton (Maeve Millay), James Marsden (Teddy Flood), and Jeffrey Wright (Bernard/Arnold) to the stage.

| SXSW 2018: ‘Gym Buddies’ Celebrates The Ridiculousness Of Fitness Culture
I think we can all agree, the rise of fitness-minded products, services, and trendy exercise activities (like goat yoga or punk rock aerobics) is a topic that’s rife with potential for ridicule and humor. That’s also the basis behind new web series Gym Buddies, which follows the tale of Aparna (Nikita Redkar), a social-media obsessed millennial stereotype in her 20s, as she sets out on a huge healthy lifestyle change prompted by a recent breakup. She enlist her best friend Quinn (Chelsea Lane) to be her designated gym bud, to which Quinn begrudgingly agrees to.
