Get A Job starring Miles Teller and Anna Kendrick

Back in 2012, there was a little movie called Get A Job from director Dylan Kidd (Rodger Dodger, P.S.), starring Miles Teller and Anna Kendrick as twentysomething year olds with what they thought was excellent job security, only to realize that their jobs weren’t as secure as first thought. Going through the motions of finding a job, the film starts to reveal that it really isn’t so much about what the characters are struggling with, but more of a romantic comedy that uses the Great Recession as a subplot.

Then there is the fact that the film feels a little bit outdated, since production was completed way back in 2012, where it has since been sitting on the shelf at CBS Films. Now, we can finally see the film for what it is, in the newly release trailer. Check it out below.

Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark by Alvin Schwartz and Stephen Gammell

Did you ever read Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark as a kid, leading to much regret as a mostly sleepless or nightmare-laced night followed? Yeah, me too. Me too.

The collection of short horror tales by Alvin Schwartz spanned three books, and the unsettling illustrations (so long as you get the older books with art by Stephen Gammell, NOT the disgraceful newer ones I just found out exist) alone were enough to send ice rushing through your veins. Now someone wants to bring these terrors to life.

It’s been announced that CBS Films has grabbed onto the project after a pitch by Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution Image

We found out in July that CBS Films was developing a movie based on the hit Eidos and Square Enix video game, Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

Now comes word that the studio has brought in the team behind the recent horror movie hit Sinister to bring the movie to life. Scott Derrickson will direct, as well as write the script along with C. Robert Cargill, who’s better known to some as Massawyrm from Ain’t It Cool News.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution

Michael Fassbender surprised everybody yesterday by attaching himself to star in and produce a film based on the Assassin’s Creed video game series. Though video game adaptations don’t fare to well at the box office or with critics, the fact that Fassbender will be starring in and producing makes for a promising start for the Assassin’s Creed film.

But this isn’t the only bit of video game adaptation news that’s floating around the wire. CBS Films is now getting into the act by snagging the rights to Deus Ex: Human Revolution. The game centers on Adam Jensen, whose body is modified by cybernetic devices that enhances physical skills and extra-sensory powers, searches for clues behind an attack on his biotech company.
