Air Date: Wednesday, February 1st, 2017, 9:00pm Spoilers below for the season 4 finale of Vikings: Last time on Vikings, Kattegat was attacked by an army led by Egil (Charlie Kelly). It was squashed and Egil was roasted (not roasted haha, roasted crispy) by Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick), until he gave up Harald. Torvi (Georgia Hirst) died during the battle. Harald (Peter Franzén) killed the husband of his princess, and his brother killed herin the middle of sex (Harald, not his brother). Ivar (Alex Høgh Andersen) came up with a very clever plan to defeat the English, and it seemed to be working. Aethelwulf’s (Moe Dunford) men got turned every which way and were picked off by crazy vikings.

After a bit of lively brotherly debate, Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) took the lead. Their voyage was sure to be a success – Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) sacrificed a willing human to ensure it. They captured Aelle, who showed them where their father died. Aelle was tortured via Blood Eagle (as gross as you remember), and strung up. Vengeance was theirs. Ecbert is next!

Ivar (Alex Høgh Andersen) and Ubbe tried to kill Lagertha, but Bjorn put a stop to it. Floki (Gustaf Skarsgard) made Ivar his own war chariot.

Helga (Maude Hirst) took a replacement daughter. Floki (Gustaf Skarsgard) was having a crisis of faith – fundamentalist Floki! The sons of Ragnar were visited by Odin to tell them the news of his death. They all have vengeance in their hearts. The Seer (John Kavanagh) told Lagertha that she would be killed by a son of Ragnar. More below.

He also commanded him in a whisper to seek revenge not on Aelle (Ivan Kaye), but Ecbert (Linus Roache). Ivar and Athelstan’s son formed a connection akin to the beginning of Ragnar and Athelstan’s bond. Ecbert is really upset at the thought of handing him over. On the journey, a blind man (who turned into the Seer-John Kavanagh) said he could “see” Ragnar. Aelle tortured Ragnar to get him to ask for absolution. He refused. He thought about his life, his loves. As he was about to be lowered into a pit of snakes, he made a speech about the glories of Valhalla, and then dropped. Ragnar Lothbrok was dead. More below.
