| ‘Beauty and The Beast’: A Child’s View Of Disney’s New Live-Action Film
After succeeding with Cinderella and hitting the jackpot with The Jungle Book, Disney’s live action lineup went with one it’s true classics. Back in 1991, Beauty and the Beast became the first animated film nominated for Best Picture, combining unbelievable new animation technology with maybe the greatest assortment of music and songs put to screen. The film won two Oscars, both for its music; Best Score and Best Original Song (Beauty and the Beast). It had 3 (!) song nominations. Disney’s new live action Beauty and the Beast is exactly what fans of the 1991 animated classic could hope for. The film directed by Bill Condon maintains all the magic and charm, while following very closely to the narrative of its Oscar winning forerunner.

Air date: March 15th, 2017 Fresh off the news that FX has already renewed the coolest and most original superhero property on television, Marvel’s Legion returns tonight after its most bonkers episode ever last week. And THAT is saying something. We finally got to see David (Dan Stevens) use his powers with reckless abandon and it was glorious, as he literally exploded his way through Division 3 soldiers in order to free sister Amy (Katie Aselton). It was from her he finally learned some real truth; he was adopted, he’s not crazy, and he may or may not have a mutant living inside his head… the Yellow Eyed Devil… or is it Lenny (Aubrey Plaza)? Lenny, who terrorized David and girlfriend Syd (Rachel Keller) in a wild and scary finale, which all led to the jaw dropping climax where everyone was casually sitting around a therapy circle, and LENNY was the shrink! I am not exaggerating when I say the closing moments of each of Legion‘s episodes have left me floored. The show is awe inspiringly original, the visuals and sounds… so immersive. I look so forward to each week. Let’s get to it. Spoilers below for this week’s episode of Legion:

| ‘Beauty and The Beast’ Interview: Luke Evans and Josh Gad Bring The Swagger |
 |

Disney adapting Beauty and the Beast from its animated format into live-action is a tall order considering the huge fan base the 1991 animated film has. But considering that Disney has found huge success in their live-action remakes, it comes as no surprise that the studio would give this one the same treatment. And like those previous films, they usually come with a huge ensemble. With Emma Watson and Dan Stevens playing the title characters, the film needed actors who could fill the roles of the massively muscular and massively egotistical Gaston and his adorably bumbling sidekick LeFou. So Luke Evans and Josh Gad took on the roles, and did so beyond our expectations. The two have such great chemistry, and have a wonderful duet in the new rendition of “Gaston.” You can check out our video of the two singing the song alongside the film’s composer Alan Menken. Plus find out what they had to say during the film’s press junket about what it takes to be a villain and their experiences working with their horses.
