9 Chilling Quotes From Children in FilmFrom writer/director David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight) comes a new supernatural horror film, The Unborn, which stars Gary Oldman (Harry Potter), Cloverfield‘s Odette Yustman, and Twilight‘s Cam Gigandet. In the film, which opened this weekend, a possessed child whispers, “Some people are doorways.”

Typically, the children in horror movies are either the unwilling messengers of doom or are evil themselves. Either way, the dialogue these kids have to spout is usually pretty eerie and often not something you’d want to hear coming out of the mouths of babes.

In honor of the release of The Unborn, here’s a look at 9 chilling quotes spoken by children in some of our favorite horror/thriller films.

David Goyer’s ‘The Invisible Man’ Will Be Very Steam Punk

Invisible ManAfter contributing to the biggest movie of the summer with The Dark Knight, writer/director David Goyer has a couple projects lined up that he’s working on, but he’s still trying to figure out which will be next.

He’s writing and directing the spin-off, X-Men Origins: Magneto, but he’s also working on The Invisible Man for Universal.

Because he gets to direct Magneto, you would think Goyer would be most excited to get at that, but with Ian McKellen guaranteed to be pretty busy soon with two new Lord of the Rings movies in motion, who knows what might happen there. With The Invisible Man, Goyer’s working with one of the artists from Batman Begins and The Dark Knight as he writes the script and he seems to be very excited about the project.

Warner Bros. Liking Goyer’s Green Arrow Project

Green ArrowOne of the more interesting projects that is being developed to capitalize on the superhero flavor of late is David S. Goyer‘s project, Super Max. We first encountered it as a weird twist on the superhero movie, with Green Arrow’s alter ego, Oliver Queen, being sent to prison and having to escape. There was to be no tights, no capes; just Green Arrow and his wits in a prison of people he had put there.

However, according to Goyer, it looks as if it had started out not as a DC property, but as a “Marvel or DC” property.

Speaking in an interview at San Diego Comic Con over the weekend, Goyer noted that that, “It started out as a supervillain-escape idea, and the idea was, well, we can either go Marvel or DC.”

He went on to say that he talked to both DC and Marvel, and asked them who they could give him for the lead. “Because I needed a superhero that I can bounce off of. And I don’t know. For my money it was, if we went Marvel, it would be Captain America. If we went DC, maybe Green Arrow. And Green Arrow seemed like the best fit.”

MagnetoMarvel and Fox are developing a prequel spinoff of the popular X-Men villain.

Marvel Studios and 20th Century Fox are developing the X-Men spinoff Magneto, with David Goyer set to direct.

Ian McKellen, who played the role of the villain in the original movie trilogy, would most likely have limited participation in the spinoff, which will be an origin story. Goyer, who’s working on a host of various other projects, will develop a script that was written by Sheldon Turner.

Magneto, whose mutant power is the ability to manipulate metal objects, is an Auschwitz surviver who hunted down and killed Nazi war criminals who tortured him. It’s this need for vengeance that turns him and the telepathic mutant leader Professor Xavier (played by Patrick Stewart in the trilogy) into enemies.
