Episode 19 of the TARDISblend crashes into Geeks of Doom, as we wait impatiently for the upcoming seasons of Doctor Who, Torchwood, and the Sarah Jane Adventures. For this edition, we review some of the recent news and rumors about everyone’s favorite Time Lord, and look forward to the new developments coming in Torchwood: Miracle Day.
We kick off the show discussing the news of Tenth Doctor David Tennant getting engaged to The Doctor’s Daughter Georgia Moffett, in addition to the news that the couple are expecting a baby. We also take a look at the new Classic Doctor Who Channel at YouTube set up by the BBC, which is a wonderful experience for fans old and new. Additionally, we dive into the recent developments for the upcoming Torchwood season, taking a look at the new American cast lined up to join forces either with or against Captain Jack and Gwen (John Barrowman and Eve Myles respectively), as well as speculating about what Miracle Day may hold for the show’s heroes while we review the official plot synopsis. | Classic ‘Doctor Who’: Vintage Dalek Photos Unearthed |

Doctor Who has a legacy that spans almost 50 years, and has captivated the minds and attention of fans from the very beginning of the show. The series has since become a cultural staple in the UK and an aspect of Whovian lore that has the attention of many fans is the history of the show behind the scenes and during its evolution through the years.
Loup_Dargent recently dropped us a line and drew our attention to a collection of some classic black-and-white photographs from the history of Doctor Who behind the scenes — some of which have not even been posted on BBC sources. The collection of photos range from the Sixties to the Seventies with a focus on Daleks, and includes First Doctor William Hartnell, and Third Doctor Jon Pertwee. | ‘Sarah Jane Adventures’ Online Comic & Game Released For ‘Doctor Who’ Fans |

Doctor Who fans, as well as some of our younger readers, might be interested in a new online Flash game released at the BBC website. The game focuses on The Sarah Jane Adventures, and is entitled Defending Bannerman Road. Essentially, the game is like Angry Birds, with the exception that you’re shooting out rocks and objects to squash aliens from the Doctor Who universe including the Sontarans, the Judoon, and the Slitheen. In addition, there’s also an online motion comic that follows the story of the game, as well as a video of tips from Daniel Anthony, who plays Clyde Langer in The Sarah Jane Adventures.

| New ‘Torchwood’ Gets A Title Change; BBC Releases Plot Details |

The BBC has released a lot of new information concerning the upcoming fourth series of Torchwood, which has been renamed from Torchwood: The New World to the new title of Torchwood: Miracle Day. Some of the information included could be seen as spoilers, so bear this in mind if you’re trying to remain spoiler-free for the new season!
Along with new cast member Mekhi Phifer who will be acting as CIA operative Rex Matheson, John Barrowman (Captain Jack Harkness) and Eve Myles (Gwen Cooper) have been joined by Bill Pullman (Independence Day) portraying protagonist Oswald Danes, Arlene Tur (Crash) portraying Dr. Vera Juarez, and Alexa Havins portraying Agent Esther Drummond. As indicated by the character descriptions released by the BBC, the events that bring Captain Jack back to Earth and draw Gwen Cooper back into the world of Torchwood surround a mysterious event that would become known as Miracle Day — forcing the heroes, notably Gwen, to make some very challenging and “terrible decisions” for humankind. Essentially, Miracle Day ties into a global conspiracy being scrutinized by Rex Matheson and Esther Drummond.

Following the broadcast of the Doctor Who Christmas Special, the TARDISblend returns, as we not only review A Christmas Carol, but discuss the new teaser trailer for Doctor Who Series 6, and discover a couple of bits and pieces you may have missed!
To kick off the show, we dissect the new trailer, discussing the elements we enjoyed seeing the most, and then highlight a couple of minor pieces of footage included in the trailer that connect to a stand-alone episode in Series 5 called The Lodger. We dive into reviewing A Christmas Carol, and examine the excellent performance of Michael Gambon in the show. Later, we review some of the related Doctor Who news floating around the web — including information about new cast members for Torchwood, and a free Doctor Who e-book released by the BBC.
