| Massive Metal Monday: Chthe’ilist “Voidspawn” |
 |

The answer is no… I don’t know how to pronounce their name either. What I do know is that Chthe’ilist is a two-man atmospheric death metal band from Canada that formed in 2010 from the ashes of the band Spheres. They released a demo titled Amechth’ntaas’m’rriachth which turned the metal underground on its ear in 2012. Now, nearly four years later comes the release of the duo’s full-length album Le Dernier Crépuscule, which came out January 29, 2016 on Profound Lore Records. Once again Chthe’ilist has grabbed the attention of the entire metal world. The album is absolutely amazing. If you are a death metal fan in any way, shape, or form, I highly recommend giving this record a listen. I played it straight through three times in a row upon first listen. This week’s Massive Metal Monday track comes from Le Dernier Crépuscule. Check out the crushing track “Voidspawn” right here below and, as always, if you like what you’re hearing, buy a copy to support underground metal.

Release date: January 22, 2016 After 20 or so years of churning out several mediocre (at best) albums, Dave Mustaine and company are back with their fifteenth studio album Dystopia. There has once again been a major shakeup in the Megadeth lineup as both guitarist Chris Broderick and drummer Shawn Drover exited the band in the wake of the previous album, 2013’s abysmal Super Collider. The two musicians continue to play together in a new band known as Act of Defiance. Their replacements are former Angra guitarist Kiko Loureiro and drummer Chris Adler who is pulling double duty with both Megadeth and his own band Lamb of God.

| Massive Metal Monday: Dio “We Rock”
Well folks, another week and sadly another major loss to the rock world to report as legendary bassist Jimmy Bain has passed away at the age of 68. Bain first gained renown as a member of Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow in the mid 1970s, but is probably best known for his work with fellow Rainbow alumn Ronnie James Dio in the latter’s eponymously named band.
