Scorn Gameplay Trailer

If you love the style of the late, great artist H.R. Giger, whose work has been seen in movies like the Alien franchise and Species, Scorn is a game you’ll likely be interested in seeing more of.

The game has been in development for quite a while now, and previously attempted a Kickstarter effort which unfortunately was not able to meet its goal. But instead of giving up, the team at Ebb Software is pressing forward. Drawing Blood Kickstarter Kevin Eastman

If any of you are like me, you grew up watching the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, playing with the brand’s action figures, and reading the comics. But have you ever wondered what it was like for the creators of TMNT — or any other popular franchise for that matter — to hit it big in the comic book industry? What kind of stories do these guys have to tell from behind the scenes?

In Drawing Blood — a graphic novel written by one of TMNT‘s co-creators, Kevin Eastman, and that is currently running on Kickstarter — you’ll get to learn about some of these true stories, only set in a fictionalized world. Joined by comic creators David Avallone and Ben Bishop, Eastman’s Kickstarter for Drawing Blood has passed its goal of $75,000, and with only has a few days left, is now reach for some awesome stretch goals!

I was able to chat with both Avallone and Bishop about the project, and am excited to share their experiences with all of you! Check out the interview here below, along with their video for Drawing Blood!

The Girl Who Kept Night In Her Closet

Hey, folks! It has been a little while since I last posted a Kickstarter Spotlight but I ran across this one completely by accident and loved it! It has only a few weeks left so I figured there is no time like the present. The Girl Who Kept Night In Her Closet is a book about a little girl with enormous power or at least an equally gigantic imagination. It’s up to you to decide exactly where reality exists and fantasy begins. But that is definitely part of the joys of childhood, right?

Continue below for more on the story and campaign, and to watch the Kickstarter video presentation.

Sweet Dreams Cthulhu

I was introduced to Cthulhu back in the early to mid 90s when a friend in junior high turned me onto Metallica, and soon I heard their amazing instrumental “Call of Ktulu” on their Ride the Lightning album. I was big into reading lyrics back then, and when I got to Metallica’s next album, Master of Puppets and I heard The Thing That Should Not Be, a section of the lyrics stuck with me. Years later in college I took a Horror Films and Fiction class and read H.P. Lovecraft’s short story, Call of Cthulhu and suddenly it all came together. My borderline obsession with Lovecraftian horror and Cthulhu has spilled over to me young daughter. A few years ago I picked up a copy of C is for Cthulhu at New York Comic Con, and the rest was history.

Now the creators of that book, Jason Ciaramella and Greg Murphy, are back with the follow-up, Sweet Dreams Cthulhu, which they are raising for on Kickstarter.
