“It’s clobberin’ time.”

Co-written and directed by Josh Trank (Chronicle), Fantastic Four is a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel’s First Family, based on the Ultimate Fantastic Four comic book series by Brian Michael Bendis, Mark Millar, and Adam Kubert.

Childhood friends Reed Richards (Miles Teller) and Ben Grimm (Jamie Bell) create a prototype teleporter, attracting the attention of Franklin Storm (Reg E. Cathey), director of the Baxter Foundation, a government-sponsored research institute for gifted youngsters. Reed is recruited to join the institute and work with Storm’s children, Sue (Kate Mara) and Johnny (Michael B. Jordan), to complete the “Quantum Gate.”

Designed by Victor Von Doom (Toby Kebbell), the Quantum Gate is an inter-dimensional teleportation device that allows travel to a place known only as “Planet Zero.” After completing the project, Reed, Johnny, and Victor recruit Ben and commandeer the Quantum Gate for an unsanctioned expedition into the unknown.

Fantastic Four Header

Fox is making one last marketing push to promote the odd Fantastic Four. The film has gone through a few marketing struggles, with some acting uninterested after seeing the first two trailers, while some dedicated fans expressed their outrage towards how the marketing team descriptions changed the team’s powers.

In just a few weeks, though, the film will come out, and the studio has released one final trailer (which happens to be the same trailer shown at Comic-Con) to convince us that this is the Fantastic Four that fans have been waiting for. Check out the trailer below.

The Fantastic Four movie 2015 Miles Teller as Reed Richards Mr. Fantastic

Reed Richards is better known as Mister Fantastic of the Fantastic Four. The character’s most notable powers are superhuman elasticity, which allows him to stretch his body at any length and makes him nearly impervious to physical attacks. Of course any slight change to that power will cause the internet community to throw their arms up in anger, and it looks like Josh Trank‘s upcoming Fantastic Four tested the limits of that anger, and as a result the studio had to make a change.

The Fantastic Four film website has some new character profiles. Focusing on our four heroes, we get some small details as to what their powers are. But when it comes to Reed Richards (Miles Teller), the description doesn’t match up to the character’s comic book lore.

Fantastic Four The Thing

This weekend saw three major trailers drop: first there was Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which was then followed by Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. And now comes one for Fantastic Four.

Oddly enough, director Josh Trank was supposed to make an appearance on the final day of Star Wars Celebration to talk about his secret spinoff film, but attendees were told he fell ill, and could not make it. Now we can’t be certain if this is true, but a trailer dropping on the same day he was scheduled to make an appearance is quite suspect. Whatever the reason, we are getting a brand new trailer for Fantastic Four, which gives us a little more backstory on our four heroes — Mr. Fantastic (Miles Teller), Invisible Woman (Kate Mara), Human Torch (Michael B. Jordan), and The Thing (Jamie Bell) — as well as the villain, Doctor Doom (Tobey Kebbell). Hit the jump to check it out.
