Rise of the Tomb Raider

So far the only gameplay we had seen from the Tomb Raider reboot sequel, Rise of the Tomb Raider, was set in the ice and snow and unforgiving cold.

A new gameplay demo was presented during Xbox’s presentation at Gamescom 2015 this week, and in it Lara Croft has escaped the wintry environment and now instead finds herself dealing with bad guys in some torrential downpours.

You can check out the new Rise of the Tomb Raider gameplay demo below.

Rise of the Tomb Raider

We saw our first good look at Rise of the Tomb Raider, the sequel to the hit 2013 reboot of the franchise, during E3 2015 last week.

Now a much longer 14-minute gameplay demo has been released to really give those who are planning to play an idea of what to expect. It sees Lara Croft dealing with a harsh and freezing mountain forest, and showcases various gameplay elements such as collecting resources, crafting, combat, and stealth. Basically if you’re already sick of sticky summer humidity, this video is perfect for re-igniting your appreciation for shorts weather.

The demo involves Lara Croft doing a little icy rock climbing, which of course goes perfectly fine with no complications whatsoever! After that, a gameplay trailer showing a bunch of glimpses of the game.

Rise of the Tomb Raider

The biggest news out of Gamescom 2014 has no doubt been the shocking announcement that Rise of the Tomb Raider, the sequel to the hugely popular 2013 Tomb Raider reboot from developer Crystal Dynamics, would be an Xbox One exclusive release. This was totally unexpected, and Sony fans excited for the game even started petitions to change the arrangement, that’s how angered the masses were.

But never fear, word has now come from Xbox head Phil Spencer that the game will not be an Xbox exclusive after all…though there’s still some question as to what exactly that means, and how long you’ll have to wait to see it on another platform. Continue below to see what he had to say.
