The move to cancel Joss Whedon‘s Firefly was not one of Fox’s brightest. Granted, the sheer amount of popular shows that Fox has canceled speaks to a much greater problem: sheer, unadulterated idiocy within the ranks of Fox suits.

Firefly fans, Browncoats as we liked to be referred too, managed to score ourselves a movie spin-off with 2005’s Serenity, as well as some comics to go around. The story continued, albeit a little haltingly. The actors as well have expressed their desire for more Firefly.

But Whedon has, kind of, finally put all rumors to rest. Essentially, speaking to MTV, Whedon says that none of the rumors that are going around are being circulated “by anyone who owns a studio” and “nobody’s knocking on our door.”
