Each and every week “Any Way You Want It” MK2Fac3 and “Don’t Stop Believin'” Henchman21 read a lot of comics. Seriously you guys, a lot of comics. Maybe too many comics. Okay, I don’t have time to write much this week, but I’ll give you a rundown on a few comics that you should check out today. No time today for trades or love, Dr. Jones. Also, most of the trades out today are kind of boring. Go back and pick up the newest Darwyn Cooke Parker book if you haven’t already. All right? Let’s do this GoD List thing.

Welcome to a future when we see that technology has advanced in many ways, with a vast array from communications to weaponry. And with this a supernatural twist, ghosts are real and people can see them and share the area around with them. But the term “ghost” is no longer correct, they are now called “Blue lights” and most of the Blue Lights are stuck sort of in Limbo. Most of them are harmless, but there are those that want more and they will literally kill to get it.

This is where Detective Exorcist Alice Hotwire comes in. She is basically the “Big Guns” of the police department who handles these special cases. While not well liked by her peers (not that she could really care), she is the only one who is “wired” for the job. When a large amount of Blue Light activity starts showing up and it is due to a break-in at the Mots Island Maximum Security Cemetery, violent acts from Blue Lights start creeping up, and when the term “Ghost Bomb” is thrown into the mix it can’t be a good thing. This is where the investigating begins, joined by Detective Mobey, a cop who is not thrilled to work with Detective Hotwire.

This is the foreword on this Warren Ellis and Steve Pugh created miniseries. Newcomer Radical Publishing is producing this comic, based on a story by Warren Ellis, which, judging by the intense, strange, vivid world and equally traited characters, is not hard to believe. Steve Pugh is handling the rest of the series though, by writing, illustrating and even lettering this futuristic/technological ghost/zombie story.

It’s tough picking up what’s going on at the beginning of the book without having read the first two issues of the miniseries, so I recommend you do so before reading this ish. The scene does slowly evolve and it shines on some very unconventional future ghosts. Or are they the dead that have been brought back to life through artificial intelligence? That may be a fine line no matter what.
