
Adam McKay isn’t one to shy away from comedies that address current events. The Other Guys centered on Ponzi schemes and made an effort to address those issues in the end credits. So now after writing and directing Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues and writing the script for Ant-Man based on Edgar Wright’s story, McKay is setting his sights on the housing and credit bubble of the 2000s that eventually led to the financial crisis in 2007-2010. The film will be called The Big Short.
Based on Michael Lewis‘s (Moneyball) The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine, the film has already cast Brad Pitt, Ryan Gosling, and Christian Bale. According to reports, this is somewhat of a passion project for Pitt, who has been avidly pursuing to get it into production. Hit the jump for more.
