If you’re familiar with the Final Destination movie franchise, then you know the films are basically good for one thing — the deaths.

Yes, it’s one of those horror franchises where you watch and wait for the next grotesque death to occur. If you watch the movies in a packed theater, you can expect a lot of “OH SNAP!”s being exclaimed from your fellow movie-goers.

While some of the movies in the series have been less than stellar, Final Destination 5, which comes to theaters [oh snap!] this weekend, promises to be a return to form, from what I hear. But that doesn’t leave a lot of time to catch up with the series if you haven’t seen the previous movies. So, instead of trying to sit through about 6 hours’ worth of Final Destination films, you can instead watch this video here below that contains every death sequence from the first four movies.

The Final Destination

In case you were not aware, Final Destination 5 is well on its way to us already, despite the weak offering we received last time around. New Line Cinema has hired Eric Heisserer to begin writing the script for the movie, fresh off of his turn penning the prequel/remake of John Carpenter’s The Thing.

The Final Destination movies have been a lot of fun for the most part. They don’t contain any real story or acting and they’re not going to win awards, but when it comes to graphic horror movie shock value, you could always count on a good time when one of these flicks came along. But with this fifth chapter now on the way, fans are understandably more skeptical than excited.

The Final DestinationThe Final Destination
3D Blu-ray Edition
Directed by David R. Ellis
Starring Bobby Campo, Shantel VanSanten, Mykelti Williamson, Nick Zano, Haley Webb
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment
Release Date: January 5, 2010

Much like the Saw franchise, the Final Destination franchise has become a horror standard. And though they don’t release a Final Destination film every single year like their counterparts do, the movies have always had a great sense of terrifying fun about them. Up to Final Destination 3, these movies were still silly and lacking plots and story, but there was plenty of gruesome fun to be had where Saw got very old very fast after their second installment. So how would The Final Destination, the fourth film in the franchise, hold up? Let’s find out!

This time around, we begin at a suspicious racetrack where NASCAR-quality vehicles race at some small town track where rednecks and apparently good looking college-aged kids like to enjoy the races. As with the previous films, disaster strikes when an unfortunate string of events leads to a massive crash that sends metal and fire shooting into the crowd and causing the aging building to begin collapsing everywhere, killing many, many people. This of course was all just some kind of twisted daydream that Nick (Bobby Campo) was having. When the minor but significant details that lead up to the horrible accident begin playing out again, Nick knows he has somehow been warned, and quickly gets everyone to leave, including his girlfriend Lori (Shantel VanSanten) and their friends Janet (Haley Webb) and Hunt (Nick Zano). It’s not long before everyone who escaped the carnage realizes that they’ve been marked and that death is indeed coming to get all of them in the order that they were meant to go…again.
