The Simpsons, Springfield

When dealing with mysteries that are embedded into hit TV shows, it’s the one that’s embedded into perennial animated favorite The Simpsons that stands high above the rest. The mystery? WHICH Springfield, exactly, does this never-aging family reside in?!

OK, so perhaps it’s not all that important a mystery. Still…the question evolved into a long-running joke which has maddened fans for the over two decades the show has existed, leading many to go to great lengths just to figure out where it might be.

Instead of going through all that, as it turns out, the way to find out which Springfield is the right Springfield was to just be very patient and wait for creator Matt Groening to tell us the answer. Whodathunkit?

On last night’s episode of the long-running FOX animated television series The Simpsons, the opening credits were given the Game Of Thrones treatment, complete with the HBO drama’s title sequence score.

The $10 t-shirt deal of the day over at TeeFury today is a mash-up of The Simpsons television series and the video game The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim called “Fus Ro Doh” by Michael Myers Jr.

The sale began at Teefury today, Monday, March 5, 2012, at midnight EST, and will continue for 24 hours from then, and once it’s over, it will not be sold on the site anymore.

Geeks of Doom Invades WonderCon 2011

Teaser Art For Neil Gaiman On The SimpsonsFan favorite author Neil Gaiman revealed a peek from his upcoming guest appearance as an animated character on Fox’s The Simpsons.

The teaser image is a sketch from the upcoming animated episode shows Gaiman’s character getting a knife put to his throat by Springfield’s most famous bartender Moe Szyslak (Hank Azaria). See the photo here at right (click for larger, full view.) In the episode, titled “The Book Job,” which won’t air for another year, the British author plays a version of himself, and will do an American accent.

Watch Now: McBain Clips From ‘The Simpsons’ Form Short Movie

Anyone who’s seen The Simpsons should recognize McBain, the animated action movie star parody of a one Arnold Schwarzenegger.

What fans of the long-running show might not know, however, is that when these McBain clips from The Simpsons are fused together, they actually form their own little short movie called McBain: The Movie.

The micro-flick only runs at about four minutes in length, but is quite the amusing spoof on the action movie genre and a must-see for fans of the show.
