This digital deal is only for today, Tuesday, September 7, beginning at midnight PST and runs for 24 hours, so grab it while you can. The digital version is regularly $9.99, and the 24-hour rental is $2.99.

The movie is the second in the Star Trek film franchise and sees the return of William Shatner as James T. Kirk and Leonard Nimoy as Mr. Spock, along with other members of the original cast. Ricardo Montalban reprises his guest role from the television series as Khan, and the film introduces a young Kirstie Alley as Lt. Saavik.

This week, Amazon is offering up some great movie and television deals through their Video On Demand service. Of note, TODAY only, you can buy the entire Season 5 of NBC’s The Office for only $9.99 — that’s 26 episodes for ten bucks!
