Lock In USB memory keyNew ‘Active Crystals’ line of posh techie accessories to include headphones and USB memory keys.

Electronics giant Philips and world-famous crystal company Swarovski are collaborating on a line of fashionable tech accessories called Active Crystals.

So far, the Active Crystals line has unveiled four sets of headphones of polished silver metal embedded with crystals: Space, Icon, Amazone (in-ear headphones), and Mirage is of the (ear hook headphones).

Also unveiled: high-fashion USB memory keys — yes!!!

The crystal-embedded USB memory keys are user password protected and come in four 1GB varieties: Heart Ware, Heart Beat, Lock In, and Lock Out.

Heart Ware and Heart Beat are [adorable!] pendants that open to reveal a USB key; the Lock In and Lock Out models are attached to a keychain. (Click image at top right for larger view of the Lock In.)

Products will be available this August at Swarovski, department, and consumer electronics retail stores, and I totally want one.

My female coworkers and I walk around with unattractive USB memory sticks on dingy gray lanyards around our necks. Doesn’t exactly complement Tiffany earrings, does it? Depending on how much these Active Crystal products are, I say they’re going to be a big hit. (And did I mention, I want one?)

  2. Yes, who says that us geeky glamour girls can’t have a little bling as well?

Anyhow, from a business standpoint, Swarovski is doing good by tapping into this niche. I’d buy one ;)

  16. “Dagon Says:
    This disgusts me”

    how pathetic can you get!!

It’s a useful article not a sick picture…..yes it’s a memory stick, yes it’s full of crystals, but that doesn’t mean for those of us who need to use a memory stick all the time that you can’t have something that’s anything remotely nice to look at!!!!

If you think this is disgusting Dagon you need to get a life!!
