Groovespook   |

AstroboyColin Brady is directing a movie version of Astroboy, due for release in 2009. Brady was Animation Supervisor for Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events, Hulk, and E.T. (special edition), and worked as an animator on A Bug’s Life, Toy Story/Toy Story 2, and Hocus Pocus).

Scared? Excited? Bored Shitless? I’m nervous.

Our pals over at First Showing have an exclusive interview with Colin Brady along with a first look some concept art for the film.

Based on the comic/cartoon hero, not much is known about the project as the script and lots and lots of drawings are still being hashed out at Imagi Animation. Imagi, based in Hong Kong, are responsible for The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2007) and are also busy turning Highlander (yes, Highlander) and Gatchaman into animated epics, amongst other things.
