
Early last month it was reported that Brie Larson, who won an Academy Award for her performance in Room, had entered into negotiations to star in the superhero flick Captain Marvel.
During their San Diego Comic-Con 2016 showcase, Marvel made things official by confirming Larson for the role. They also revealed a new logo for the movie.

Waiting to confirm Larson at Comic-Con was a smart move. The actress was already in attendance to promote Kong: Skull Island, which interestingly enough comes from Warner Brothers, the home of Marvel rival DC Entertainment.
