Muppet favorite Kermit the Frog will appear on this Sunday’s edition of ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” where he fills in as project team leader while the show’s usual host Ty Pennington lends his carpentry skills to hurricane-stricken areas in the Gulf states.
The episode will show Kermit working alongside other volunteers for seven days in Hondo, Texas, to give a specially chosen family a complete home renovation. The famous amphibian will also present the Craft family with a new Ford Escape Hybrid, a fuel-efficient SUV for which Kermit is the official spokesfrog.
Kermit had this to say about the experience: “Working with the ‘Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’ team was a dream come true. I got to help the show’s fantastic designers, builders, and volunteers do something wonderful for the very deserving Craft family.”
Kermit is no stranger to home improvement. In 2005, he and fellow Muppets Miss Piggy and Fozzie Bear joined the “Extreme Makeover” team in renovating the home of America’s first set of African American sextuplets.
