There are gonna be plenty of Marvel heroes coming to the big screen in the near future.
Jon Favreau has signed on to develop and direct an IRON MAN movie, which is expected to start shooting early next year. Arthur Marcum and Matt Hollaway have been hired to write the script.
Marvel, which is independently financing the new films, also has plans for another HULK movie with X-MEN: THE LAST STAND writer Zak Penn doing the script. And an ANT MAN film with a humorous slant is in the works. Edgar Wright (SHAUN OF THE DEAD) will direct and co-write it with Joe Cornish.
A number of writers have been attached to Marvel projects in development. David Self (ROAD TO PERDITION) will pen the CAPTAIN AMERICA movie; Andrew Marlowe (HOLLOW MAN) will write the NICK FURY film; and Mark Protosevich (POSEIDON) will pen THOR.

Favreau proved that he can competently helm an action/sfx flick with Zathura, so I think the only thing we should be worrying about now is the script.
