| Bytes: Blade Is Dead |
- Spike TV has staked BLADE. The series, which ran for 13 episodes, will not be renewed for a second season, but reportedly a DVD of the first season will be published.
- Another children’s fantasy book is heading to the silver screen. HERE, THERE BE DRAGONS, based on the upcoming book by James A. Owen, follows three strangers who find adventure in the world of myth and legend. The three young men are later revealed to be fantasy authors (and real-life Oxford classmates) J.R.R Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, and Charles Williams.

- Robert Smigel, best known as the voice and creator of Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, is working on a prime-time cartoon for FOX. ANIMALS, described as a parody of suburban life using animals, will be written by Smigel and Greg Cohen (KING OF THE HILL).
- The SUPERMAN RETURNS DVD has been released in China in an effort to counter piracy. The DVD will be released to the rest of the world in two months.

I can’t believe that Blade made it this long. I never once saw the show, but if it’s anything like the movies, I wouldn’t p*$$ on it to put out a fire, even if it were in my own house.
