| Bytes: Dobby Cut From Potter 5 |
- Dobby, the computer-animated Jar Jar of the Harry Potter franchise, will not appear in the fifth film HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX. In the book, the house elf plays an important role in warning Harry of several dangers, but it’s unknown at this time how the filmmakers will handle the character’s absence. Kreacher, another house elf who’s bound to Sirius Black’s family, makes his first film appearance in PHOENIX, which opens July 2007. [Link]
- THE BIONIC WOMAN is returning to TV. BATTLESTAR GALACTICA executive producer David Eick and BIRDS OF PREY creator Laeta Kalogridis are reinventing the ’70s sci-fi series for NBC. [Link]
- To celebrate its 40th anniversary, the STAR TREK saga will continue through a new line of comic books from IDW Publishing, starting with a six-issue miniseries STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION: THE SPACE BETWEEN in January 2007. [Link]
- Cinemax will run a STAR WARS marathon weekend next month. The six films will air back-to-back in high definition on November 10th, and then the cable channel will continue to air the movies throughout that weekend.
