| Bytes: Young Cap Jack in Pirates 3? |
- Child actor Dominic Scott Kay has confirmed that he will appear in the third PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN installment AT WORLD’S END. Rumor has it that the 10-year-old star of the upcoming live-action CHARLOTTE’S WEB will play a young Captain Jack Sparrow (the role popularized by Johnny Depp), possibly in flashback sequences. The third PIRATES flick hits theaters May 25th 2007. [Link]
- Masi Oka (Hiro Nakamura on NBC’s HEROES) will appear as himself in an episode of STUDIO 60 ON THE SUNSET STRIP and play the part of the host of STUDIO’s show within a show. [Link]
- The G4 network plans to repackage STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION with interactive programming as they did with the original series’ STAR TREK 2.0. [Link]
- Plans are in the works to turn Joss Whedon‘s short-lived cult TV show FIREFLY into a massive multiplayer online role-playing game along the lines of Star Wars Galaxies and Eve Online. [Link]
- Wesley Snipes surrendered to authorities in Florida and was later released on $1 million bond today after pleading not guilty to federal charges that he failed to file tax returns and falsely claimed millions of dollars in refunds. If convicted, the BLADE star could face up to 16 years in prison. [Link]
- Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment have made a deal for PRODIGAL SON, a romantic comedy about a single mom who goes on a date with a carpenter from IKEA who just happens to be Jesus Christ, returned for Armageddon. - Alan Rickman, who plays Severus Snape in the HARRY POTTER movies, joins the cast of director Tim Burton‘s SWEENEY TODD. [Link]
- Rebbeca Romijn has joined the cast of ABC’s UGLY BETTY as the gauze-wrapped mystery woman for episodes to air starting in February. [Link]
- Thomas Dekker of NBC’s HEROES will play John Connor in Fox’s drama pilot THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES, based on THE TERMINATOR film franchise. [Link]
