Music Review: Arctic Monkeys ‘Favourite Worst Nightmare’

Arctic MonkeysI just want to start off by stating that I am an Arctic Monkeys fan, I am not one of these Johnny come lately types who jump on the bandwagon when a bands gets a BIG push from the record company. I found these guys a couple of years ago before their first CD was released. I’ve been following them ever since and telling all my friends and anyone who will listen to me (which is not many”¦ha-ha) to check these guys out.

Their latest release is called Favourite Worst Nightmare, which I love as a title for any CD. With any band’s new release I get a little worried if they’ll being consistent and will they stay with the type of music they are known for. Or are they heading in a new direction in their music, but lucky for us Arctic Monkeys are not. They are staying true to their musical roots. They are just evolving as musicians and continue to write and produce great songs. Each CD is getting better and they are finding a niche in this music society. Their music is a nice change to what is coming out today in the music industry and field.

To pick a favorite song is getting harder and harder, as like the first CD, each song flows well and works with each other. As I listen to this CD more and more I pick up on different things. But so far as of RIGHT NOW my favorite song on the album is called “Teddy Picker.” Something about this song has a great beat and the words are very well written. The music and the lyrics fit well with each other as all the songs do on this CD.

So it is my recommendation to pick up this CD and listen to it, then listen to it a couple of times, and you will fall in love with it and enjoy the music and their style of music. Then when you finish listening to this CD I recommend you go out and pick up the rest of the collection, which is not many and start enjoying this band. Start now because they are going to be huge and you can say that you knew of them from the start and you are not some Johnny comes lately jumping on the bandwagon.

  2. It is very easy to follow young and up and coming bands with the use of the web, plus the help of friends who are in the music industry that hear the buzz about new bands…
