Check out the official press release below for more info.
Calling all geeks,
You’re invited to attend the 2007 mutli-media convention Silicon at the San Jose Double Tree Hotel on October 5th through 7th. Silicon is a Sci-Fi/Horror/Comic/Anime convention that benefits Diabetes research.
Featuring great daytime programming for all ages; costume contest, fan swap meet, fashion show, SFX workshops and more. But unlike most conventions when the sun goes down our programming does not stop! Silicon features great late night events such as a live Rocky Horror performance, HorrorYearbook.com’s Midnight Movie Massacre, Formal Masquerade Ball and of course lots of parties all night long.
Joining us this year are special guests Writer Steve Englehart (Batman, Avengers), Horror Director Greg Lamberson (Slime City, Johnny Gruesome), Comic Artist Jim Mahfood (Clerks, Marvel Ultimates), SFX Artist Joe Castro (Terror Toons 2), Artist/Performer Dame Darcy (of Death by Doll, Meat Cake), Screenwriter Todd Farmer (Jason X, Clock Tower), Author Jonathan Fesmire, Scream Queen Eliza Swenson (Dracula’s Curse, Transmorphers), Underground Graffiti Artist Mark Bode, and many, many more.
Aspiring artist, filmmakers, and writers will also enjoy our many how-to panels, workshops and the comics jam. Not to mention our great artist colony, hall cosplay events, and 24 hour gaming for all you fanatics.
Also don’t forget to come by and check out all our great featured films and Hollywood Trailer Park: Featuring the 20th Anniversary Screening of the cult classic Slime City, Stupid Teenagers Must Die, the pulse-pounding animated feature Race, and one of 2007’s best horror films, Neighborhood Watch, just to name a few.
This is just a taste of all our great programming, get the full details, and constant updates at http://www.siliconventions.com/ or join us at our MySpace (http://www.myspace.com/siliconventions)
Thanks for the mentions guys! We really look forward to seeing you at the show, first round is on us!
