Cinematical has the exclusive on the new poster for Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D, the upcoming adventure flick starring Brendan Fraser, Josh Hutcherson, and Anita Briem.
Click on the image here after right for a larger view of the poster, which is cool as hell! I did a double-take when I realized that it’s teeth that line the top and that we’re getting the viewpoint of a creature who’s most likely about to attack — look out Brendan Fraser!
Fraser stars as a geologist who, along with his teenage son [or nephew, depending on which synopsis you read], is led into a previously unseen world after discovering a hidden message in an ancient artifact, in this update of the classic Jules Verne story Journey to the Centre of the Earth
.
Eric Brevig makes his feature directorial debut in this live-action film from New Line, which was scripted by D.V. DeVincentis (High Fidelity) and hits theaters July 11, 2008.
I had a chance to catch the teaser trailer for Journey 3D when I went to see Beowulf in IMAX 3D, and I definitely liked what I saw (MUCH better than Fraser’s other upcoming release, Inkheart, which looked terrible). While Journey 3D is live-action, the otherworldly landscapes and creatures were supplied by high-definition, photo-real 3D technology.
And the book, by Jules Verne is also great (as is 2000 Leagues Under the Sea).
