Quick update for you fans of Ender’s Game, the novel by Orson Scott Card that’s being adapted into a movie.
As some of you may know, Wolfgang Peterson (Troy, The Perfect Storm) was initially attached to direct. That is now no more.
io9 is reporting that producers on the film have announced that Peterson has “moved on.” No reason or excuses given, just that he’s moved on.
Chartoff Productions is now very busy with sorting through and finding a new director for the project. They hope to start filming in early ’09, leaving plenty of time to prep the effects-heavy film. To ensure the script is true to the novel, Orson Scott Card is also writing the screenplay for the film.
No word yet on who will star as Ender in the film.
Awesome book– maybe they should leave it alone.

Indeed an awesome book..and from what I read last year…they are planning on including the “Enders Shadow” (also an awesome book) in the film as well.
