Just got some cools news about an expanded gaming section that Blockbuster is rolling out to all of its U.S. corp-owned stores.
Starting now, in addition to the latest game releases, you can buy all the major gaming systems and accessories (Wii, PS3, Xbox 360) at your local Blockbuster store. Blockbuster also announced plans to increase the variety of game titles they have available to rent, and will also be introducing Nintendo DS game for both rentals an purchase at locations nation-wide later this year.
To kick off this initiative Blockbuster will be offering a PS3 game and movie bundle for $499.99 at select locations, which includes:
- A 40 GB Sony PS3 Game Console
- PS3/Blu-Ray Remote
- HDMI Cable
- Spiderman 3 on Blu-Ray disc
- Transformers PS3 Game
- Blockbuster 12-week PS3/Blu-Ray rental card (one free rental a week for 12 consecutive weeks)
Here’s the weird thing to me about this story. At my local BB, this has been the way they did things anyway. Of course, I am Canadian, so that could explain it.
