MovieWeb has posted an exclusive video interview featurette with the cast and filmmakers of Sex and the City movie. (Watch it here below.)
This is probably the most boring featurette for a movie I’ve ever seen, but if you’re interested in seeing clips from the movie and some behind-the-scenes footage, it might be worth it for you to watch. During their interviews, all the actresses could say was “it’s great to be back,” which seemed forced, and that they wouldn’t have agreed to make the movie unless they had a new story to tell.
Here’s an example of what must have motivated them: One of the scenes has the four girlfriends talking about sex while Charlotte’s (Kristin Davis) very young daughter is coloring next to them. When Charlotte asks that they not use the word “sex” in front of the child, she’s met with irritation, with Samantha (Kim Cattrall) saying she wouldn’t have bothered to fly 3,000 miles to meet up with them if she had known she couldn’t talk openly. Wow, I can see now why they were drawn back together to tell this poignant tale.
I have much more to say about the movie and the series on a whole, but I’ll save that for another time. For now, I want to know from you, the readers:
Who’s looking forwarding to seeing the Sex and the City movie? Will it be any good or will it disappoint?
The film has the returning cast from the HBO television show — leading ladies Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis, along with their respective beaus. Michael Patrick King is the writer, director, and producer for the movie, as he was for television series.
