If you haven’t heard yet, there’s this place called Hulu where you can enjoy lots of movies and TV shows for free. At the moment, you can head there and watch one of the all time classic sci-fi movies, Paul Verhoeven‘s RoboCop.
I’m running on the assumption that most everyone knows of or has seen Robocop, but for the Amish just joining us, the movie tells the story of a good cop who is gunned down by a gang of big time drug lords. Instead of moving on from there, a big time corporation decides to take his remains and try a new high-tech experiment where they fuse him into a super robot police officer called a RoboCop.
I recently re-watched this one and I must say, if it’s been a while, watch it again! The kind of graphic, anarchic tone that Verhoeven pulls off is something you never see directors pulling off anymore. It’s one hardcore flick and it still holds up just as strong today as it did back in 1987.
Jump over for more and the full movie!
Unfortunately, even with how well the original holds up, that doesn’t protect it from the unoriginality of Hollywood, which is currently developing a re-vision of the movie. On the brighter side of things at least, it is being directed by Darren Aranofsky, so it does have that going for it. Even with a top notch director though, it will be a huge challenge to surpass the original.
Thankfully, no matter what, we’ll always have this original here to watch, and again, you can watch the whole thing right here, right now.

Great flick. I recently had the opportunity to this in theater. Good post. “Bitches leave.”
