Jeffrey Dean Morgan — the man behind The Comedian in the upcoming Watchmen movie — is in negotiations to star in The Losers, which is also based on a comic book.
The Losers comes from Vertigo Comics and tells the tale of a Special Forces team who is ultimately betrayed and left to die, which they obviously do not do. When they gather themselves, they form their own little team and set off on a classic revenge mission. On said mission, they’ll uncover the surely evil intentions of their former leader and ultimate betrayer and attempt to remove their names from a CIA death list.
The Losers is also loosely based on a comic from DC Comics called Losers, which is set in World War II, while this story takes place in a more modern time and with our current war as a backdrop.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan would play Clay, the team’s leader.
The Warner Bros. movie will be directed by Sylvain White (Stomp the Yard, Castlevania [2011]) and written by James Vanderbilt (The Rundown, Zodiac) and Peter Berg (Very Bad Things, Friday Night Lights). Among those producing is Joel Silver and Akiva Goldsman.

So no date on when this starts filming? I’m guessing if they’ve started casting, it shouldn’t be too far off now.
