As most of you are aware, along with the Watchmen theatrical release on March 6, 2009, Warner Bros. is also releasing some DVDs to accompany the movie. One of the DVDs is an animated movie based on the secondary comic Tales of the Black Freighter and the other DVD is the Watchmen graphic novel turned into a motion comic, so it’s kind of like watching a hybrid animated version of the graphic novel.
Using the Watchmen motion comic, someone named Demonic Murray had the brilliant idea of re-creating the Watchmen theatrical trailer.
Hop on over to the second half to check out the video, complete with that catchy Smashing Pumpkins song that works so perfectly with the footage, even as an animated motion comic.
This is just another cool way to watch the trailer and get really excited about the movie. It’s also about as much proof as you need toward director Zack Snyder‘s loyalty to the source material.
Here’s the video as promised. Enjoy, and drive safely.

Wait, so this is based off of a comic book? Weird…
